Marteau Galactique - Main World Generation ----- Galactic sector Mark off a 10x10 section on a piece of graph paper. This represent the local galactic sector. Stars (Roll 1D6 for each square) For each square, a 4+ indicates a star system. Planetary system Roll 4+ (1D6) for each star system to indicate the presence of planets in that star system. Roll 3D6 to indicate the number of planets in the star system. Main World Size (T) Roll 2D6-2 (T) and then multiply the result times 2,000 to determine the main world diameter in kilometers (km). If the main world is less than 6,000 km, then the world is the moon of a gas giant or a larger planet in the system, and is most likely a mining colony of a nearby NT 5 civilization. If (T) is 0 then the main world is an asteroid in an asteroid field. Note: If you already know the size of the world using Battlefleet Gothic (BFG) or some other game, then refer to the chart below for the definitive world size: Size (T) of 0 is an asteroid. Size (T) of 1-6 is a small planet. Roll 1D6 for actual size (T). Size (T) of 7-8 is a medium planet. Roll 4+, on 1D6, for size (T) 8, else size (T) is 7. Size (T) of 9-10 is a large planet. Roll 4+, on 1D6, for size (T) 10, else size (T) is 9. Gravity (G) The planet's gravity is indicated by the number which is (T) divided by 6. The result is expressed in g; the Earth's gravity is 1g. A character's strength is divided by (G) to get the character's relative strength on this world. Oceanography (O) Roll 2D6-2 (O) to find the portion of the world that is covered in water or other liquid. The water may be below the surface also. A world with a size (T) of zero will always have 0 atmosphere. Atmosphere The atmosphere of a world is dependant on its size and percentage of water covering the world Multiply (T)x(O) and consult the chart below to find out the type of atmosphere and what your character may be required to have in order to survive on the world: 0 = empty / combination 1 to 10 = tight atmosphere / respirator 11 to 45 = normal atmosphere / nothing 46 to 60 = polluted atmosphere / filter 61 to 100 = toxic atmosphere / combination Life Role 5+, on 1d6, for there to be life on the main world. If there is life, then role 5+, on another 1D6, for that life to be intelligent. If the life is not intelligent then there is still animal life on the world.
